My First 60 Days as a Product Strategist and Data Security Advocate with Object First
In our fast-paced world of technology, every new opportunity brings a sense of excitement and anticipation. These last two months with Object First as a Product Strategist | Data Security Advocate has been a thrilling ride, and we’re just getting started.
From the beginning, the ethos of Object First to provide secure, simple, and powerful ransomware-proof storage that was also easy to install and live with resonated with me. Keeping the community aware of data security best practices is a personal passion, including communicating the benefits of the Zero Trust Maturity Model and its extension into backups (referred to as Zero Trust Data Resilience (ZTDR). Object First helps me foster this, with their commitment to ZTDR innovation in the continued development evolution of OOTBI, which stands for Out Of The Box Immutability. It’s pretty cool how this box easily installs in minutes yet provides security (i.e., S3 Object Lock and zero access to root) and power expected in today’s enterprise tools.
Being a Data Security advocate and strategist allows me to be at the edge of information exchange with customers and the data security industry. I've already had the privilege of engaging with industry professionals, IT leaders, and security experts through webinars, workshops, and interviews. One thing is obvious: the energy and curiosity from these interactions reflect the growing recognition of the importance of adopting a Zero Trust approach to data storage.
To reach the community in the professional sphere, you must also be able to relate to the community personally. Watching my teammates interact at events and hearing how they are regarded amongst peers makes me proud to be on a team with such respected professionals. I am not the only one who feels this way at Object First, and that’s rewarding to see in company culture.
Of course, at a tech startup, things move fast. In my first 60 days, I have been a part of a remarkable team effort, creating an initiative that will provide you with the knowledge you need to efficiently ensure your company data is secure in a straightforward, understandable, and enjoyable format, of course! To sum it up, the collaborative and forward-thinking environment here at Object First, coupled with a culture as enjoyable as it is driven, has made my first 60 days with Object First an extraordinary experience. As I look ahead with Object First, I am excited to be a part of a company that is not just embracing the future of Data Security and Zero Trust but actively shaping it.
